90210 Recap: Model Behavior

Ok, we had to include this picture because Naomi's shoes are distracting. What are those? Anyway...

Last night's episode of 90210 focused mostly on the older generation - which we were actually happy about. Debbie Wilson finally had something more to do than be a doting wife and mother hanging around the house dispensing advice. It was great to see her step up and take the reins when her boss was in need of help. Her confidence got her in the door and her abilities got her the job shooting at the show.

In Mr. Matthew's class, the students are given an assignment to write a paper on a career they may be interested in pursuing. Annie decides to write the paper about the photo shoot and is convinced by Mr. Matthews to let problem-addled Adrianna tag along. Ryan, Kelly and Brenda are all still trying to figure out if Adrianna has been abusing drugs and this might be a good way for them to find out. Meanwhile, Kelly's got some other issues to handle: Dylan wants to talk and get back into her and Sammy's lives. All of this drama forces her to tell Ryan right now isn't the best time for them to get into a relationship. A very hurt Ryan brings up a good point - why did Dylan call Brenda if he really wanted to speak to Kelly?

When all of the thoughts about the past love-triangle between Kelly, Brenda and Dylan come to the surface, Kelly basically verbally attacks Brenda and accuses her of having more than a friendly relationship with him. Brenda denies anything more than just trying to protect Kelly - but when she deletes Dylan's phone number out of her phone it becomes a little more suspicious. If they really are just friends, why not keep the number? Also, are Brenda and Ryan starting to get something going? He was looking more mischievous with Brenda at his side and we kind of liked that!

Exclusive! 90210's Dustin Milligan on relationships, lacrosse and great guest roles

You think bad-boy Ethan is charming on 90210? Wait 'til you get a load of his real-life counterpart, Dustin Milligan! Dustin is at his captivating best when he sits down with Jason C. and talks about love triangles, what it takes to get into shirtless shape, the "physicality" of the Ethan/Naomi relationship (so that's what the kids are calling it these days!) and a very special guest role he had on another hot CW show.

Warning: Dustin drops a few hints about what's coming up in tonight's episode, Model Behavior (let's just say the title is ironic, ok?). Spoilerphobes, you might want to wait until after the show to watch the clip. Everyone else: Check it out!

90210 Recap: "Wide Awake and Dreaming"

It's a month later, and the moment we've all been waiting for (no, not the Annie/Ethan kiss) is finally here: the school musical! Yes, "Spring Awakening" has seen three directors and two female leads, but the action taking place on stage isn't as dramatic as the action off stage.

90210

Adrianna hasn't been showing up for rehearsals, so Annie has been taking over as her understudy. With Ty as the male lead, the new couple gets closer and closer. When the two decide to have a makeout session backstage at rehearsals, they get caught by an overprotective Harry, followed by Ryan and Kelly. This makes Harry think about his high school days -- which produced a long lost son. He goes home to talk to Debbie about how to handle things, and she is way more relaxed than Harry. Of course, she also makes sure to have a sex ed talk with Annie later in the night.

Annie says she isn't even thinking about sleeping with Ty, but when he surprises her with a hotel room for themselves at the play's after-party, Annie can't stop thinking about anything else. From what all of her new friends are telling her, it sounds like Ty has been around the block more than a few times. When Ethan finds out, he pleads with her to not sleep with Ty, but to save herself for someone with real feelings. All this coming from someone who cheated on his girlfriend with a random girl in front of school. Did anyone else think Ethan was talking about himself when he was asking Annie to save herself for someone? And did you also think Annie was talking about Ethan when she said she tried to do that but it didn't work out? Everyone needs to slow their roll; these kids are what, 16?

90210's Ryan Eggold on Kissing Kelly Taylor, Making Music, and Playing a Teacher!

Ryan Eggold stopped by our Chicago studio to chat with Mia about his role as teacher Ryan Matthews on 90210. Check out Ryan's take on his scenes with Jennie Garth, his music career, and the possibility of a "special bond" (his words!) with a student:

90210 Recap: "The Bubble"

Dixon Wilson

Oh, the drama! This week's episode of 90210 was even better than a very special episode of Maury! Kelly's baby daddy is revealed! But first... poor Naomi is trying to deal with her sham of a family and is trying to reach out to the people she trusts, including Ethan. Speaking of Ethan, he has taken an interest in Annie (or perhaps his feelings never went away from two summers ago). Annie is obviously still into Ethan, but she's just asking for trouble. Dating your new friend's recent ex-boyfriend doesn't make for happy times. Besides, Ty is still into her, and he's super cute. Does anyone else think he looks like a mixture of Chace Crawford, Tom Welling and James Marsden?

Dixon is having some money problems after hitting another student's car. Thank goodness the Peach Pit is hiring and Nat has a soft spot for kids who have just transfered to West Beverly from the midwest. It seems as though his new job plus school work and lacrosse is too much to handle.

90210 Party Interviews: Jessica Stroup and Gabe Sachs

Jason C. caught up with Jessica Stroup to discuss her character Silver's relationship with Kelly!

Executive producer Gabe Sachs talked about bringing back the iconic show and the surprises that await us in the first few episodes:

90210 Recap: Lucky Strike

Erin Silver 90210

Last night's episode of 90210 gave us more insight into the private lives of the Beverly Hills elite. The Wilson family is settling in nicely -- which also puts a damper on quality family time. Debbie and Harry decide to put together a mandatory family night which Annie and Dixon reluctantly make an effort to attend (with backup plans in tow). Dixon has been invited to prescreen the new Bond film with Navid and the guys from the lacrosse team while Annie's new crush, Ty, wants to take her to a concert. So, the plan is for the Wilsons to go bowling while the friends just so happen to show up around 8. But while the Wilsons get back to their close family roots, other families are being pulled apart at the seams.

Silver has been dealing with family issues of her own. Instead of going to her sister (um, hello, Kelly is not only her sister but also the guidance counselor... plus she's been through pretty much every traumatic experience one could possibly face) she keeps it a secret and seeks help at an abused women's shelter. When the shelter isn't able to accommodate, Silver is forced to sleep in her car. It becomes painfully obvious that she is missing a mother in her life. When she goes out to bowl with the Wilsons, Silver is the only one enjoying herself and remarks to Debbie that she wished her mom would take her bowling or spend family time with her. While Silver can't rely on her own mother, we have a feeling the Wilsons will play a special role in her life, especially since Dixon seems to have taken an interest in Silver.

90210's A Hit! The Showrunners React And The PTC Rages

90210 is a hit! We'll admit, we were surprised at how much we enjoyed the first episode -- as we said in our season-preview podcast, we feared the worst when the network declined to send out screeners to critics. But the show had the highest-rated premiere for a scripted series in CW history, and according to a TV Guide.com poll, 86 percent of viewers intend to keep watching. Not bad!

TV Guide's Matt Mitovich talked to show runners Jeff Judah and Gabe Sachs about the first-week numbers, and found out they were prepared for the worst: "You know that no matter what you do, on a show like this, some people are going to crap on it," Judah said. Added Sachs, "Especially with a campaign like this," featuring scantily clad teens in a swimming pool. "People were ready to hate it."

The showrunners claimed they were shocked by the "tsunami of publicity" that surrounded the return of original Jennie Garth or Shannen Doherty. "We did not understand the fanaticism that the previous fans had," Judah admitted. "We naively were thinking, 'Maybe we should put Kelly in the first scene, so people know she's in it…?' We had no idea that she was going to be on 17,000 magazine covers!" Hmmm. We confess a wee bit of skepticism to that. How could they not know the return of Kelly and Brenda would be the media event of the new season?

90210: "We're Not in Kansas Anymore"

90210 Annie and Dixon

90210 is finally here and started with a two-hour season premiere. It is almost impossible to watch this show and not compare it to the original. The Walsh family has been replaced with the Wilsons. Harry Wilson brings his wife, Debbie, and two kids, Annie and Dixon, to live with his mother as he starts his position as principal at West Beverly. It becomes obvious rather quickly that the family is "not in Kansas anymore". The new cast of characters are definitely good-looking ones (even the parents are hot this time around), but we're not completely sold on the show itself. The potential is there, but the premiere tried to do too many things too soon.

Let's get reacquainted with the characters, shall we?

90210 Fever!

90210 finally hits the screen today, and everyone is all atizzy. The show is on the cover of three big magazines, and countless articles are counting down the the premiere. We couldn't be happier! We'll admit it, we're as dizzy with anticipation as everyone else. That's why we've been diving into all the background on the show, especially the bits about Shannen Doherty's and Jennie Garth's on-set reunion.

The cast of 90210

Entertainment Weekly has a great cover feature on the pair, where they talk about what it's like revisiting the characters (Shannen admits even SHE didn't like Brenda sometimes!) and spill about past conflicts. No, there were no off-set fistfights, the pair says, but there were a couple of incidents where the guys had to separate them. "No, we never punched each other," Shannen says. "Scratching? I'm not going to deny that," says Jennie. Hee!

The two also talk about what they wanted from renewing their old 90210 characters. They dismiss any talk of a love triangle: "That was one of the things I was adamant about: Brenda Walsh would not fight for a guy anymore," Shannen says. "There are bigger, more important things in her life." Plus, Brenda is apparently trying to set Kelly up with a hottie, even offering to babysit her (poing!) 4-year-old son.

There's lots more -- even a video from the photo shoot, and check out the hysterical background on the blackboard -- plus it's a great, candid interview, and it has us champing at the bit for the show. Bring it on!

That's just the tip of the media iceberg -- Shannen graces the cover of Us Magazine, and 90210 is the cover story for this week's TV Guide.

We'll be devouring these stories while we're counting the minutes to the new 90210. How about you? Are you getting excited, or do you not believe the hype? Talk about it in the comments!

90210 Premiere Party: Adam Gregory and Christina Moore

As Ty, the richest kid in school on 90210, Adam Gregory's been sweeping women off their feet with slick moves and lots of cash. But in real life, he's much more down-to-earth -- Adam tells Jason C. about his Midwestern roots, his musical background, and which artists his California friends won't let him play!

Christina Moore plays Tracy, the spoiled rotten mom of equally spoiled Naomi. Check out what Christina told Jason about the worthy-of-royals jewels she sported on the show, the audition process, and just how insane people are for 90210.

Check Out The 90210 Promo: What Do You Think?

Check out the new 90210 promo hyping the September 2 premiere we're all waiting for! We'll confess that we've already watched it several times, looking for clues about what's to come. We're loving the nanosecond of Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty together (and wondering how long before we start hearing stories of tensions -- and possibly fist fights -- between the two again), wondering why Dixon got punched, and looking forward to Annie's inevitable confusion and angst. Our one complaint? No Jessica Walters in the promo! Come on, we're dying to see her take on washed-up TV star Tabitha!

Take a look at the promo yourself, and tell us what you want to see happen!

9021-Uh Oh: Tori Spelling Peaces Out

Photo by Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty ImagesIt looks as though Donna Martin will not be making it back to her alma mater due to some (what else) financial issues. Tori Spelling has decided to pull out from the 90210 Spinoff after finding out her former co-stars Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth will be making at least twice as much per episode than she would. While the money issue is kind of understandable, Spelling should also take into account the fact that Kelly Taylor and Brenda Walsh were more important more prominent characters than Donna Martin.

What do you think about Spelling's departure? Was the pay unfair or whould she be thankful for whatever they were willing to give her? Don't forget, the new 90210 makes its CW debut Tuesday September 2nd!

Brenda Walsh Comes Back to 90210!

We can all stop crossing our fingers, holding our breath and doing rain dances -- Shannen Doherty is coming back to 90210! We all know the Brenda years were the best years, and now we can look forward to more clashes with Kelly Taylor, more dining at Nat's Peach Pit and more hanging out with Donna Martin.

When we last saw Brenda, she was boarding a plane to London to attend a prestigious acting school. Over the years, she succeeds in her pursuit of a career in the theater and even has a rekindled (off-screen) romance with Dylan - who moves to London to be with her. Eventually they break up and he, of course, goes back to Kelly. While neither of the women seems to have ended up as Mrs. McKay, they both end up back at West Beverly Hills High. Kelly will be a guidance counselor and Brenda will use her theatrical skills to help direct the school's musical.

High school musical or not -- it's always a safe bet that when Brenda Walsh is around there's going to be drama, and we can't wait! What do you think about the return of Brenda? Do you have any guesses as to what kind of trouble she can get herself into? Let us know in the comments!

News Roundup: Gossip Girl Galore; Plus 90210 Scoop

Chace, lookin' goodIt's summer, and that means not so much new TV. But some of The CW's hottest shows are still stirring things up with beach scandals, casting stories, and directing rumors. Here's a roundup of the latest scoop on Gossip Girl and 90210.:

*It's not just Manhattan and Brooklyn anymore! Chace Crawford spilled that Gossip Girl will expand its horizons this fall -- the cast will be shooting scenes in the posh Hamptons, and we can expect some "beach scandal." Oooh! We wonder who it involves...

*Speaking of Chace Crawford, if you're in the market for his London lawn chair (!?), CasaSugar has found it. We're more in the market for another kind of, ahem, Chair (Chuck/Blair action, that is).

*And speaking of the Hamptons, NyMag.com reports that a mere four people showed up to a recent Gossip Girl casting call in the Hamptons. Seriously? There have to be more than four GG addicts in the area, right?

*But don't feel too bad for the cast. All three Gossip guys have earned a well-deserved spot on People's Single & Sexy Men of 2008 list. Congratulations to Ed, Chace, and Penn.

*Ed's also featured in People's Where The Boys are photo gallery. His band The Filthy Youth played at NYC hotspot The Annex.

*On to 90210! Eonline's Kristin reports that the 90210 premiere may be two hours -- and as previously reported, Tori Spelling will definitely appear in the premiere! No news on whether or not Donna and David are still together, though. We're psyched to see Tori in her element.

*But first, we have to send our sympathy her way. Tori's pug Mimi LaRue passed away Tuesday at the age of 11. We're so sorry to hear that, Tori.

*Meanwhile, TVWeek.com says that Jason Priestley's in talks to direct some 90210 episodes.

Remembering Beverly Hills 90210

Jason C. asked some of the new cast of 90210 about the shoes they're going to have to fill. Jennie Garth, who returns as Kelly Taylor, tells us we can probably expect more racy issues than the previous years. This is interesting news considering her character had been shot, burned, joined a cult and was raped. We can't wait to see what's in store!
