America's Next Top Model: Yo, shorty! And what's up with all the niceness?
Okay -- no dudes allowed, but the auditions are open to all females, aged 18 to 27 of all shapes, sizes, colors and backgrounds and they MUST be 5’7” or shorter.
We love the “theme” idea for the Cycle 13, which begs the question…
Are you short and hot? Do you have what it takes to be ANTM? Open casting calls are being held in Miami, Fla. on Saturday February 28th at Eden Roc and again on March 3rd in San Francisco at The Westin San Francisco Market Street. Auditions will be held both days from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Since it seems like March 4th is getting further and further away, we figured we’d check out some early promotional video The C-dub has provided of the new models this week to get our ANTM fix. And are we feeling fixed -- so we figured we’d spread the love.
In case you don’t have time to kill the way we do, here’s a quick overview of some of the new contenders.
Kortnie calls herself a plus size model and that’s a definite plus in our book. And “bless her heart,” she’s from Texas. What’s the saying -- “Don’t mess with Texas”? She’s not a walking bone bag and she seems intelligent and, well, funny.
Natalie seems crazy-confident but it looks like she’s spent some time in the modeling trenches already, and we’re predicting some trouble from her.
Another Texan, London, calls herself a “curvy model” and declares that she isn’t one of those “alien looking” clones that the industry is cranking out.
Nijah manages to come off as confident without being cocky. She took a year off of work and school to totally dedicate herself to modeling. So far it’s paying off!
And Tahlia (her friends call her “Tal”) spent eight years playing volleyball so not only is she pretty, she’s athletic too! She’s studying to be an EMT but it doesn’t seem like she has any modeling experience at all. However, if charm has anything to do with it she’ll go far.
They may all be on their best behavior, but we were kind of shocked to find ourselves liking these gals. What about you? Are there any who strike you as someone you would actually want to hang out with? Are there any who already rub you the wrong way?

I have always wanted to be a model, and when I heard about America's Next Top Shorty I got excited. But now that the audition dates are passed I would like to know if there is going to be another audition or not and what the age requirements are.

I saw the commercial last night for the short models. This is something I have dreamed about for many years, but realized the dates for audition have passed. :-( Will there be other dates?

I think its wonderful that the "shortys" get a chance too. Is there any other way to audition?
