Privileged: "All About the Power Position"

If you still think that Privileged is a wholesome, non-confrontational, middle-of-the-road drama, you apparently missed Tuesday’s episode. It may have started out as a do-and-feel-good show but this week, it was on and the heat got turned up – way up.

It had only been a few minutes into the latest Privileged and there was porn, romance and a seductive plan by Sage to get the low down on the Smith family tree. (Special treat for old Will & Grace and Hidden Palms fans, Leslie Allen Jordan appeared as dive salon owner. We can’t help but smile every time we hear his sassy little voice.)

And, if you missed the sexual-stiff conversation between Charlie and Megan, all we can say is - hilarious. We can totally picture Megan being a little "stiff."

Porn and stiffness aside, the latest Sage drama has her working in cahoots with Lily, of all people. We should have seen it coming. It was only a matter of time before these two gossip girls/drama queens got together. Megan better watch her back!

We also weren’t totally convinced that the awkwardness between Megan and Jacob was just a result of Charlie’s revelations about Megan’s dating past (her high school boyfriend told everyone she was “stiff”). But why did she have to assume Jacob canceling their date meant he wasn’t interested? We thought Megan had higher self esteem than that.

And, although we tend to side with Megan on whether or not she needs be watching pornography – even if it is just a learning tool – we think Rose held her ground well and loved that she stood up against Megan when she thought she was judging her. She totally was, by the way. We never thought of Rose being, in the words of the show, a slutty-slutterson.

All this sexual-drama had Megan running a good-hearted interference attempt with Max (Rose’s boyfriend). We don’t know if was Megan’s reaction to him or what, but Max was definitely giving off the ick-factor vibe last night. But why did it upset Megan so much when she failed to keep the two apart? Is it because she didn’t have the guts to stop Lily back in the day? Is she trying to relive the past and make a better Lily out of Rose?

Oh, and did we mention the mugging? We’re glad she’s okay now so we can say we’re glad Sage got a lesson in real life. Plus, Rose got to see the slimy side of Max. We can’t believe he had the nerve to ask her how long it would take her to help Sage.

“Should I wait here?” he said - more like at the curb! Thank goodness Rose got rid of him. We tend to view her as a sweet, innocent sister of our own and would hate to see her get hurt.

And, as this week’s drama wound down, Megan once again takes advantage of Charlie’s friendship and ditches him to go see Jacob. If we have to hear her say “rain check.” to Charlie one more time, we just might scream! Aside from the fact he obviously is mad in love with her, we think it’s kind of shady to drop your friends every time a guy calls.

Do you think Megan and Charlie’s friendship can last? Will Charlie ever get the nerve to tell Megan about his feelings? Tell us in the comments!
