Top Model: Double Elimination!
Was it just us, or was the editing totally obvious last night on Top Model? We felt like we knew who was going home in both halves within the first few minutes. The eliminees, Hannah and Isis, got so much screentime throughout the episode!
Here's our take. First, the eliminees:
*Hannah's "aw, shucks!" personality was maybe starting to grow on us (a little). But let's face it: her walk was painful to watch, and despite coaching from Miss Jay, she didn't improve on the runway. Will you miss her commentary, or were you ready to say goodbye?
*Isis got the "fading fast" edit for the past few weeks, but we kept thinking she'd surprise us with a comeback. But Isis still didn't seem completely comfortable in her own skin, and after two weeks of nearly-nude shoots, she let her anxiety get the best of her -- and it showed in her photos. We'll miss her chill but positive attitude.
The good:
*The eyes-above-water shoot produced some truly striking photographs, including Lauren Brie's, Sheena's, and Clark's. We loved the concept, the bold eye makeup, and the poses some of these girls were able to pull off.
*Analeigh came back with a vengeance after a weak showing last week. She nearly won the runway challenge, and her eye-makeup photo struck a chord with the judges. Oh, and she still seems to be one of the sweetest girls in the house.
*Joslyn won the runway challenge despite walking blindfolded AND wearing a truly hideous fox ensemble. Kudos to her for keeping her positive attitude throughout! She scored a Seventeen advertorial photoshoot with two friends (Isis and Sheena). We're glad that Isis got a chance to model for the mag in spite of being eliminated.
*Photographer Nigel! As one of the girls said, you can't really complain about Nigel in a wetsuit.
The bad:
*The guest designer ripped Samantha apart for not representing his designs well and showing a little too much when she posed on the runway. Fine, she revealed more than necessary... but she was BLINDFOLDED! We're fairly sure she wouldn't have had the same problem if she could, you know, see.
*Paulina didn't seem to have anything positive to say about anyone. Was it just us, or was she more negative this week than usual?
*Tyra seems determined to take girls down a notch if they seem to confident. Did you catch what she said about Clark? "Too confident... almost cocky." Have you gotten that vibe from Clark? We can't see how being too confident could hurt in a tough competition like this, but we have a feeling it may come back to hurt Clark in the end...
