Privileged Premiere: Megan's Got Her Work Cut Out For Her!

Privileged is like Gilmore Girls meets The Devil Wears Prada, and we can’t wait to see more of how Megan makes her way through the manipulative lifestyles of the rich and famous.

We totally pity Megan getting fired and losing her apartment, but we're glad she ended up in Palm Beach – working at the tabloid was really not her thing. And when she meets her potential new boss, nonsensical cosmetic mongrel Laurel, they seem to immediately hit it off. Is it just us, or do you get the feeling Laurel sees a little of herself in Megan?

Megan arrives in Palm Beach

It’s hard to not like and want Megan to succeed. She is really sweet, bubbly and refreshing but we get the feeling there's more behind this sugar-coated exterior. Why doesn’t she speak with her dad or try to make up with her sister? She doesn’t even let them know she’s in town!

One thing’s for sure, Megan seems too naive to thwart everything Rose and Sage, or as we like to call them, the Paris and Nicky Hilton of CW’s Tuesday night, throw her way. These two heiresses Megan’s hired to tutor are much harder to get a read on. We want to like them because of everything they been through -- losing both parents that young would take its toll on anybody -- but Sage is making it especially hard.

More about the premiere after the jump, so keep reading!

Megan gets props for standing up against Sage when Laurel tries to fire her. We had no idea sweet, funny Megan could have such fortitude and Laurel seemed to admire her for taking a stand against her granddaughter, although we reluctantly have to admit we kind of saw Sage’s point she when confronted Megan in the ladies room at the charity event about stealing Rose away. But did she go too far when she invited Megan’s sister?

Megan and Rose at the party

Beside learning the ins and outs of the rich life and surviving the girls she’s hired to teach, we also see some love and jealousy brewing in Megan’s future. Megan’s best friend from back in the day, Charlie, is certainly in for more than friendship. It's totally obvious by his smile when Megan walked away at the café. Even more obvious is when he tries to tell her how awesomely fab she looks at the charity event -- thanks to great chef and what seems to be personal stylist Marco.

Too bad for Charlie though, because Megan has butterflies for hot, rich neighbor Will, although we were disappointed with her rich boy comments in the gallery. They were totally hurtful and could have potentially ruined any future chance she had with him. Will he still like her, despite her initial stereotyping?

As for Megan’s career, we’re glad she’s getting to mingle with the upper class but worried about her ability to get Rose and Sage into college. Did anyone else notice the lack of tutoring that took place? Megan totally has her work cut out for her. Will she survive Sage, make up with her sister and get the right guy? Who is the right man for her? Will she ruin her trust with these high-society socialites? We saw her taking notes on Laurel, the very person giving her this opportunity! Only time will tell. -- Destiny

Joanna Garcia rocked this pilot. The premise didn't seem like anything i wanted to get into. But her portrayal of the character is so funny and likeable that you want to return next week to see how things go for her.

I didn't expect much of this show, but it was surprisingly entertaining. I give much of the credit to Joanna Garcia. Love her!
