One Tree Hill: Revenge, Murder, and Moving In

Leyton and the Scott family gave us some cute and happy moments last night, but most of this week's One Tree Hill episode continued the dark turn we saw starting last week -- a painfully bruised Brooke was out for revenge and practicing her shooting skills, crazy nanny Carrie and Dan continued their sadistic standoff, and Q was murdered in the final seconds of the episode.

Let's start with the biggest surprise, Q's death. Did you see it coming? We started thinking something bad might happen to the guy when his entire storyline last night was all about how perfect things were going. He was finally getting good grades! He had Jamie rapping and making him a cape! And he had played his part in getting Nathan back to basketball. We were sad to see him go -- we liked the new Q of Season Six. And this is the second episode in a row to end with violence. We want a cute Jamie closer next week, please! No more blood!

Now, on to the recap. At the Scott home, Haley is worried. First she notices someone lurking near Jamie's school and assumes it's Dan (we find out later that nanny Carrie is framing Dan for all this, since of course he's still strapped to the "hospital" bed at her place). Then she finds a bottle of nearly-empty pills -- Nathan's pills for his back pain. Haley assumes Deb has returned to her old addiction, so she confronts Deb. After all, Deb's been out every night. What has she been up to? Well, Deb doesn't mince words: "I've been having sex!" Haley is surprised and probably not thrilled with the mental imagery, but she's happy that her mother-in-law isn't a junkie. Together, they confront Nathan, but he reassures them that he's actually taking the right prescription. Haley's mollified, but she thinks they should go to the doctor together tomorrow to see what's next for Nathan. He agrees. The Scott family, as always, is completely adorable and Haley's sporting an amazing wardrobe this week -- we want all her dresses!

Lucas and Peyton are having a great time in LA. Peyton tells him that she wants to get married with their friends and family around, and he agrees. They call Brooke to tell her that they're getting married, but she can barely muster up any enthusiasm because she's in so much pain. Leyton returns to Tree Hill, and Peyton prepares to move in with Lucas.

Back in Tree Hill, Brooke is horribly battered and bruised, and the attack has changed her entire outlook. The usually sunny girl has a new pessimistic perspective -- she tells Peyton she doesn't believe in karma, only justice. Brooke only lets Deb know that something bad has happened to her, but she's insistent about keeping the details quiet and not telling her friends. Instead, Brooke makes up a story about falling down the stairs after a faceoff with Lindsey. Peyton buys the story, but she seems suspicious after some of Brooke's comments.

Deb and Skills's relationship grows closer when she confides in him about a friend in trouble (Brooke) without actually revealing the situation. The pair realize they've got more going on than just physical chemistry.

Haley and Nathan go to the doctor and find out that Nathan could play and be just fine... or he could end up in a wheelchair and never play again. It's a huge risk -- one the old Nathan might have taken. But mature Nathan doesn't want to take that risk. He has a wife and a son that he loves, and they mean more to him. He's willing to give up basketball for them. He tells Q as much on the court.

At chez crazy Carrie, the torture and humiliation continue. Don't eat dinner while watching this show -- Carrie's trying to feed Dan some repulsive cockroaches! But finally, Dan's had enough and he speaks for the first time this season. "Your plan sucks," he tells her. Well, this drives Carrie insane (even more insane than she already is). Why does her plan suck? What's he talking about? Dan tells her to call the number on the back of his pager. After deliberating, Carrie goes through with it and reaches the EMT. Dan reveals that without the heart he needs, he'll be dead in less than six months. In a fit of rage, Carrie brings a knife to his throat, but Dan tells her that he's pretty much already dead without that heart. So much for Carrie's evil plan. She's furious.

Deb shows up at Brooke's to take her out for a girls' night, but Brooke's not interested. Deb presses harder -- she knows what it's like to feel alone and in trouble, and she does not want that for Brooke. Brooke caves.

Q goes to a gas station, but as soon as he gets inside, he realizes something isn't right. The clerk's giving him the oddest look. Then he sees blood and a body -- someone else has already been shot. Before Q can really figure out what's going on, the clerk shoots him in the head...

...cut to Brooke and Deb practicing shooting on their girls' night out. Brooke looks satisfied after pulling the trigger. It's a chilling final moment that caps off a disturbing episode.

What did you think of the episode? Do you like the new dark turn this season has taken? Is Brooke doing the right thing by keeping quiet and pursuing revenge? What will Carrie do next now that she realizes her plan won't work? Do you agree with Nathan's decision? And what about Leyton moving in together -- are you excited?

Oh yeah....
"your plan sucks." Loved it!!!! It made me laugh so much but why all the dark turns....not liking that soo much...like Q murdered...NO!!!! This is not the show i used to love...my mom is going to stop watching....but as a die hard OTH fan...i will never stop but please why do we need all the darkness???

this episode was really something. It was really clear that something was going to happen tp Q, but it made it so hard. I loved him^^
"Hey 23, call me!" was so adorable, love Naley. But i think Haley should get more plots, cause she doesnæt have so much going on right now.

And i feel so sry for Brooke, I felt like had to hug her. And when she i'm not going to cry. OMG! Sophia Bush has done an amazing job!!
But what the hell is it with Peyton, how many bruises can a person get from falling down the stairs? Peyton really bugged me this episosde!
And I loved Jamie for aksing Lucas about if he had loved aunt Brooke before<3 He is just Brooke & Lucas's little qupid!<3

And i want Brooke to tell somebody other then DEb the thruth, i want her to tell to Lucas or anybody on the fab five gang...

Oh my God!! I practically had a heart attack when I saw Q in the gas station. I cried too, it was too sad. Especially when they showed the previews with Q's little bro and Jamie, and Jamie asking about Q. Poor kid, he really loved Quentin....:(

But I was glued to the screen. Best one liner ever:

"Your plan sucks."

That was a great thing for Dan to say, I was cracking up.

As for Brooke, I don't know, I hope she'll be OK, but she can't kill anyone, I don't want her to go to prison.

And seriously Leyton is alright, but Peyton is already feeling bad about leaving Brooke, which is a sign that they may postpone the wedding. I can't imagine them breaking Lucas' heart again, but I don't think it's gonna be as simple as them getting married. I don't mind them as much anymore, just as long as they aren't too broody together, it's weird.

I for one am not judging Brooke for lying I have never been in that position and emotionally Brooke is flat. This is not the Brooke Davis I know, and I'm confused as to why other that are her friends havent stepped up more then what I have seen. Everyone deals with traumatic situations diffrently. I love NHJ of course. Deb and Skills still not intrested in them romanticly but I love them seperatly. Love, Love love me some Dan. Yeah I know he's an @$$ but I still love him. Leyton I can't understand the pairing and I'm pretty sure after all these years I never will. I'm so upset and disgusted that Q was killed. It wa pointless and I'm not happy about it at all.

I just listened to your podcast of this great Naley episode, finally something that we waited all summer for: Naley love... and Jamie love. Naley at the Rivercourt reminds you of the old Naley. Not to bash on Jamie (I love Jamie), but his parents together are just lovely. He had good scenes with both his parents. He had a nice father/son scene, that boy can shoot a basket. He had a lovely mother/son scene, with Haley at the piano! Alright I'll stop gushing over the Naleyness. Let's go back to business.
The bashing would go to Peyton. How can she be so self-absorbed? I am sorry but you can't get TWO black eyes from stupidly falling down the stairs. Peyton has lost my respect this week, and she didn't have much of it last week.
By the way this episode is titled: One Million Billionth of a Millisecond on a Sunday Evening. The "Part 1" from last week's was part of the title of the song.

I loved the Scott Family scenes! I wish we had more of them in EVERY episode. I'm so happy for Haley and Nathan... they have come a long way.

The Dan/Nanny Carrie storyline is pointless. Why bring her back? Hopefully, she'll end up in jail. I actually felt sorry for Dan this episode. Roaches in his oatmeal! Arrghh! I'm wondering how far out is this house from civilization. Once he escapes where is he going to go?

The Lucas/Peyton scenes were boring... get married already!

I think Brooke's mom was behind the break in. Brooke mentioned her sketches were gone. Why would a burgler take sketches? That makes no sense...unless the person hired by him wanted those sketches! I can't wait to see how this storyline plays out.

I don't think Brooke can hide that much longer. Seriously, who is going to believe the story about falling down the stairs! You can't get THAT tangled up in your sheets and cause THAT much bruising!! Deb should have called the police... does anyone notice her store being closed???

I was shocked by Q's death...even though when Q turned around I think he knew he was going to die.

I can't wait to see next week's episode.

i can't believe you guys called the death of Q in the podcast, that was quite unexpected. i felt so bad for Brooke too :( good ep though

This episode was awesome! I loved loved loved that Peyton and Lucas are moving in together and are going to have a real wedding with friends and family! Its been way to long! Bad timing though right? With Brooke and Q. I feeel terrible! But I hope it doesn't effect how Lucas and Peyton turn out in the end. Q, omg, scary thing to see. I hate seeing things like that cause it gets me to thinking about people that I was once really close with and I still consider my self close with them! I think about them and miss them everyday! But back to the episode..Jamie is still adorable as ever but whats up with his teeth? Did anyone else think they looked kind of funny? Like big or something. Idk, but I wonder how he's gunna take it when he finds out about Q. Lot's of heartache in Tree Hill once again. Can't wait to watch next weeek and see how it turns out!

Okay, so I stopped watching the show but I had to come back just this once for Brooke and OMG she broke my heart!

I don't necessarily agree with her but I totally understand that this is something Brooke would do. First off, she hardly ever burdens others with her problems like others do her- which again, I don't completely agree with but that's just her, she's independent because she's been forced to be this way. She's never really had someone to turn too. Even her friends have at times not been there for her so she's used to dealing with things on her own...

Second, I really think that Brooke thinks it's Victoria that did it. To me, that seemed completely obvious (too obvious actually which made me suspicious but the thing about the attack being aimed at Millie made even more sense for it to be Victoria) when Brooke said that all that's gone is some money, the computer, and her sketches (sarcastically). I think the learning how to use a gun part was so that she could defend herself if it ever happens again and the not going to the police part was because she thought her mother was behind it. I don't necessarily think she's trying to protect her mother and let her get away with this because she is her mother like she used to in the past, I think she's just really emotionally broken. She always knew her mother was horrible, but even after firing her, I think she still had some hope left in her. I think now she either wants to deal with Victoria on her own or just not deal with that part of her life anymore at all.

The line about her always doing good and getting what in return broke my heart. I'm glad that it's being addressed more and more now. I like that Brooke's not playing the victim in front of everyone to some degree but I also like that it's being acknowledged that she's always doing good for other not never gets as much back.

Peyton made me upset this episode, surprise surprise. Ok, I understand that eventually she came out of Lucas-land and might have noticed that something was off and didn't really wanna push it (even though, in the past, Brooke puts on a bit of a fight, but after being pushed a little, she's always up for talking about her problems -or drowning them out in cake and ice cream if you've noticed- once she knows the other person cares enough to listen), but even if she only thought Brooke fell down the stairs, she could obviously see that Brooke was in a lot of pain. You'd think that she'd at least stay a few more days until Brooke was healed a bit...?

Thank God for minimal LP and yaya for more Naley scenes.

Possibly back to not watching again....

Oh, and how are the season 2 podcasts coming along? I'm so excited for you guys getting closer to season 3, lol. I thought you were gonna start last week but 5 this week to make up for it? haha

ok so first off i feel really bad about q
he was turning into such a great character and really good with jamie and i started really liking him

also about brooke maybe the reason she doesn't want to go to the hospital or is ashamed about it because maybe she got raped or something and doesn't want anyone to know. she could be in denial or scared of what happened but i still feel really bad
also if thats the case then i don't think victoria is behind it because who would hire someone to do that to their daughter or even millie maybe they are trying to look like victoria set it up but really it was someone else
overall i thought this was a good episode although brooke was hard to watch but her acting was really good

Loved LP moving in together, and I can't wait to see them supporting each other in the future.

I hope Peyton figures out what happened with Brooke soon.

This episode was just great overall.

I CANNOT BELIEVE Q IS DEAD. I HAVE TO ADMIT, I CRIED. I LOVE Q ESPECIALLY THIS SEASON. HE HAS A LITTLE BROTHER AND JAMIE THAT HE IS SO CLOSE AND LOOK UP TO. SO SAD. :(
I DO NOT LIKE BROOKE BEING ALL EMO AND SAD.
I AM SO GLAD THAT PETYON AND LUCAS ARE TOGTHER.

that was a GREAT EPISODE

First of all, pooor Brooke!!!
she was seriously beaten everywhere! Her arms, legs,
and especially her face!
but I must say she looked badass
shooting that gun!
and I'm really liking how Deb was supporting her.

Another hilarious line
Deb: "I've been having SEX!"
lmao!

NHJ: GOLDEN FAMILY!
who doesnt love the Scotts?
I'm so glad we got more development last episode,
and the Naley scene conversations
at the river court was lovely!

and I must say the whole Jamie
and Leyton bed jumping in the beginning
was cute to see.

and Q?!!!! O.O
OMFG poor guy, I guess we did
see it coming.

Cant wait for the podcast!!!

This was better than the last episode. Still to much Pucas. Funny that even Jamie at the tender age of five thinks Lucas is fickle when it comes to his love life. He is wise beyond his years.

Naley was awesome. More of them please. I liked Deb in this one and I haven't been able to say that in a long while. Brooke needed a little mothering and she provided that. I wish that Brooke would tell her friends what happend and give them that chance to help her through it.

I'm not invested in Q's character but was sorry to see him go out like that. Nanny Carrie is still a lame villian and a waste of screen time. All and all I give this episode a repectable B.

I love One Tree Hill, but I think it's a little to much violence and death!

Through the past five seasons there's been plenty of accidents and I don't think Quentin beeing shot was neccecary.

One Tree Hill usualy portray life pretty well, but it's not really realistic that all these things are happening in a small town like Tree Hill.

I mean, these are some of the things that have happend:
Lucas and Keith crashing on the way to the airport
Dan’s heart-attack
Nathan crashing the race car
Keith and Jimmy being shot
Nathan and Haley crashing with Cooper and Rachel
Haley being hit by Daunte
Lucas collapsing after not taking his heartmedicine
Psycho Derek stalking Peyton
Nathan ending up in a wheelchair after a bar fight
Psycho nanny Carrie
Dan needing a heart-transplant
Psycho nanny Carrie returning
Brooke being robbed
Quentin being shot

I think it's a litlle to much. What happend to the show from season 1,2 and 3?
I miss the old One Tree Hill, but a have to admit; I can't miss a single episode!

Because One Tree Hill will always be the best show no matter what!

Sorry for the misleading poll. I've updated it. I did get that Brooke was joking, but I still wish she would have told the truth! Her friends want to help her.

The podcast for this episode is coming soon -- I can't wait to record it. So much to discuss!

I think Q's death was sad, but somewhat relevant to the shortness of life. It's not always rainbows and happy endings. People get beat down, people get killed. It's life, and OTH has always portrayed how bad it can be.

Great episode. Next week will be rough.

I can't believe of all the turns this show has taken Q had to be the one to die.

Why Q? I'm an emotional wreck. the dynamics between him and Jaime were the best part of the show. I can't even say bring him back, cuz he's dead!!!

why haven't Leyton married yet? They could have renewed their vows in front of friends and family at a later time. Stop wasting valuable time delaying the inevitable.

Wow, another great episode, my only problem was that Q died, he was finally happy, getting good grades, and thinking of a future with more than just basketball.
I love the alliance with Brooke and Deb, they look great together. I can completely understand why Brooke would only confide in her, she understands what Brooke is feeling. I love the new Brooke but I loved her more when she was happy and sure of everything.Another thing, Brooke is just so strong, putting everyone else before herself, and refusing to cry after the attack, she's my favorite character.
I'm glad Peyton and Lucas are finally moving forward but I feel like with this whole Brooke situation, that might change, I just don't understand how Peyton doesn't see that Brooke is lying.
Jamie is such a cutie, Nathan is also strong, willing to give up basketball for his family, I love the way he's matured.
Crazy Carie, I love that Dan got one up on her and he didn't even have to try. As much as I loved hating Dan Scott, I love hating psycho Carie more.
Keep the drama coming Mark!!

amm wow what an epsoido i os sad i cant get 2 see oth this seson u guys have it on till 9 and on moday my country perfore wrestaling at nine it so stupid i love oth an i have 2 read abt it dam , it seem like realy breath take story . my question ,, y quin ? who attack broke, y kill q unless there a serial killer around or something big is up in oth i can with it really drak storythese day and i love it so sorry abt broke but let c whta going on

hey - - brooke made up the story about Lindsay as a joke..she blamed it on the dryer..and omg Q!!! and LOVE naley and jamie..they r the best! and skills and deb...such a good ep!

If anyone didn't vote for Q's death in the final poll, then they have a heart of stone!

Brooke was clearly joking about the Lindsey thing, and Peyton saw that. Her second story was that she got tangled in sheets and fell down the stairs. She was trying to make the mood light because it was clearly dark.

The worst part of the episode was Lucas and Peyton.

And Brooke had a slight hint of sadness when she heard the Leyton news, and then again when she told Peyton "the whole world was waiting for that. I really am happy for you."

I loved Dan pissing Carrie off! LOVED IT!

Jamie brought some lightness to the mood.

I loved the 2 references to Brucas. Jamie mentions Lucas (his godfather) and Brooke (his godmother) and asks if they were in love! And then Skillz says "should I just wait for you to propose to Brooke." "People that are meant to be together always find their way in the end."

... still shocked, choked up, and wet-eyed about Quentin.
