90210 Fever!
90210 finally hits the screen today, and everyone is all atizzy. The show is on the cover of three big magazines, and countless articles are counting down the the premiere. We couldn't be happier! We'll admit it, we're as dizzy with anticipation as everyone else. That's why we've been diving into all the background on the show, especially the bits about Shannen Doherty's and Jennie Garth's on-set reunion.
Entertainment Weekly has a great cover feature on the pair, where they talk about what it's like revisiting the characters (Shannen admits even SHE didn't like Brenda sometimes!) and spill about past conflicts. No, there were no off-set fistfights, the pair says, but there were a couple of incidents where the guys had to separate them. "No, we never punched each other," Shannen says. "Scratching? I'm not going to deny that," says Jennie. Hee!
The two also talk about what they wanted from renewing their old 90210 characters. They dismiss any talk of a love triangle: "That was one of the things I was adamant about: Brenda Walsh would not fight for a guy anymore," Shannen says. "There are bigger, more important things in her life." Plus, Brenda is apparently trying to set Kelly up with a hottie, even offering to babysit her (poing!) 4-year-old son.
There's lots more -- even a video from the photo shoot, and check out the hysterical background on the blackboard -- plus it's a great, candid interview, and it has us champing at the bit for the show. Bring it on!
That's just the tip of the media iceberg -- Shannen graces the cover of Us Magazine, and 90210 is the cover story for this week's TV Guide.
We'll be devouring these stories while we're counting the minutes to the new 90210. How about you? Are you getting excited, or do you not believe the hype? Talk about it in the comments!

I loved it. The wait was worth it. I look forward to future episodes.

I lost my interest withen the first half hour. I don't care for the show at all. Remakes are never the same. I thought the story line sucked!!!! I don't really care for the cast at all! Will just see how long the show lasts. I'm guessing 2 seasons.

Not sure if it was just me but I was actually bored with it. I think you would appreciate this show more if you were a former 90210 fan, I guess. Otherwise, it's just "okay". I mean compared to the other shows going on right now, this one just does not have the Wow/Amazing factor to it.
It was interesting to see Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth coming back but then again I was never a big fan of 90210 back then, especially since I was still young, so I'm a little lost as to where they were left off and why they are relevant as well as the history of all the parents and such u know?
The concept of the show is interesting but again, it doesn't Pop out. If you were to line up all these shows together: Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Smallville, Supernatural, etc... they have a lot of things going on and they captivate the audience right away. This one is too much of a build up waiting to happen when in the end, it falls slightly short of expectation.
Not sure who said it (Mia, Sarah, or Jackie) but one of you girls were worried since there was so much hype about the show but not enough actual promotion of what goes on IN the episode. Well, you were right. It was not strong enough. It would have been hard to showcase the highlights of the show when nothing huge is going on.
Not sure how long this show will last for because I doubt I'll tune in next week. Sorry. Just being honest.

I never saw an episode of the original 90210, but I just saw this one, and it's pretty stellar. I love Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty, and they're what got me into it. They're both amazing actresses, as well as Lori Laughlin. I just hope the show doesn't continue being so similar to gossip girl.

The CW has been promoting the heck out of 90210 and Gossip Girl because these are the two shows that The CW is counting on to save Dawn Ostroff her job and to save the network; these shows are targeted towards a very specific demographic. However, I think 90210's audience will be older than the demographic that The CW wants - the audience will consist of those of us who watched the original 90210, and we are no longer in the younger age demographic that The CW covets. Once the show scales back on showing the original 90210ers, the show will lose some of its audience.
