The CW Bets on Lucky 13
The CW is performing a little programming alchemy: Take the rating-bait strength of a reality show, combine with the subject matter of a show with a near rabid fan base, and presto! Welcome to "13," a horror-based reality show that will play this summer. It's the next best thing to having Sam and Dean Winchester attempt to exorcise Tyra Banks.
According to Variety, the network is teaming up with horror god Sam Raimi (director of Evil Dead, Army of Darkness, and oh yeah, some little movie called Spider-Man) to make the show, which will put players through a series of challenges based on popular horror-movie tropes. The last one standing wins.
We're just imaging the potential challenges now: Evade the chainsaw-wielding maniac? Find and destroy the sleeping vampire? Fend off brain-munching zombies? Figure out which of their companions is hosting an alien parasite? The possibilities are endless!
What do you think? Will you tune in? What kind of challenges would you like to see? Tell us in the comments!

Whatever! Reality TV is hear to stay. I don't know what everyones complaining about. You can still find regular TV shows. I'll tell you what I am sick of is watching the same old sickening adult cartoons. You know which ones I'm talking about. Reality TV makes sense for the networks since it's interested, dramatic and oh yeah, much cheaper than paying real actors. I think this show is going to be amazing. It'll be a bit different. Can't wait.

Now I love me some Sam Raimi, and I do think the man is brilliant, but, reality? Really?
Well it sounds more like a game/competition so maybe it might be worth a watch...

Wow, first Reaper now this? C'mon CW promote the right show! Okay fine I'll give this show a look-see, but so help me if you make it corny! How about the CW just becomes an all supernatural/fantasy station huh? this makes number, what? 4? if you include the failing Smallville.....Hmmm...this'll be a risky attempt for the network.

Ugh...so the CW sees what potential SPN's genre has. But instead of pushing the show, they come up with some undoubtedly crap reality show to try and pull in quick ratings.
Oh, CW. How you disappoint me. :\

To be honest, I'd rather eat broken glass then see another reality show hit the networks. Im sick to death of all these reality shows coming up and taking the time slots of great prime time shows like SpN. Put more advertising into SpN, show some reruns over the summer to gain viewer loyalty and leave the reality shows to channels like VH1 and MTV. Im my honest opinion, reality tv is a poor substitue for a writers imagination and a total waste of viewer time.

I'd rather they increase funding/advertising for Supernatural instead. Enough reality TV--honestly. The networks are already over-saturated with it as it is. And a lot of the reason I even watch ANTM every once in a while is for the sweet photography and the artistic element.
Is actual culture not marketable, or something?

Aww, come on, why can't we have Sam and Dean exorcising Tyra Banks? Huh? (And they wouldn't just "attempt" it, they would totally succeed!)

is this a joke?

oh good grief. Now I know the network is getting desperate to make up with the SN fans for their mistakes.
