Hidden Palms: What Really Happened?
Welcome back to Hidden Palms, home of mysterious deaths, dysfunctional marriages, jealous relationships, conflicting information, and the most bad-ass 4’11” drag queen you’d ever want to meet. Joy! Once again, we kind of wish the show was less Hidden Palms and more Exposed Cliff, because every scene he was in just made us happy – especially when he was being a bad, bad boy. Lucky for us, he spent much of the evening being mad, bad and dangerous to know.
He also spent much of the first hour in bed with various women: “I forgot how fun and perverted you are,” purrs Eddie’s mom. “God, you’re like that little battery bunny!” squeals Nikki. Too bad both women end up mad at him – Nikki, because she saw him making out with Maria, and Maria, because he tries to end it all with her because he really cares about Nikki. Dudes, Maria is a bit psycho. It doesn’t help that Tess finds her in bed with Cliff at the end of the episode. That’s going to be an awkward conversation.
And even when he was doing bad things – sleeping with his dead friend’s mother, having a hissy fit at stolen evidence, confronting Johnny on the missing dress – we couldn’t help but feel for the guy. He’s so desperate for someone to give him a chance. “I’m not the bad guy you think I am,” he tells Liza. The only one who seemed to believe that was Nikki – and he screwed that up. How hard was it to watch Nikki almost give into Cliff at the end of the two hours, and then get the strength to send him away? Poor Cliff – you could just tell he’d lost his last lifeline. There’s no normal left for him anymore.
And poor Nikki – she’s so cute and sweet when Cliff says he wants to be her first official boyfriend (as opposed to her umpteenth drunken hook-up), and so, so heartbroken when she sees Cliff with Maria. Thank goodness she’s got Jesse Jo to help her out – did anyone else get all wibbley when Jesse Jo was talking about his kids, and told Nikki that she might be his favorite?
How awesome was Jesse Jo? We finally got to see him in all his drag-queen glory, taking the stage as Tammy Wynette to sing “Stand By Your Man.” Even better than that was seeing him in protective mode, trying to save Nikki from Cliff – and herself. He’s just such a mother hen, with one hell of a wicked tongue. And you haven’t lived until you’ve seen a man in a silky robe wearing copious eyeshadow threaten someone more than a foot taller than him with a sparkly Lucite stiletto-heel shoe. Which was your favorite Jesse Jo quote?
On to the mystery: When confronted with the bloody Halloween costume, Greta claims she and Cliff went to see Eddie at the same time, and they found him dead. She got blood on her when she went to check the body. Cliff, on the other hand, claims that Greta got to Eddie’s about 10 minutes before he did, but he scoffs at the idea that Greta could have done it. Granted, he does it in such a way that he practically screams “Greta did it!”, but that’s Cliff for you.
Liza is convinced that there’s more to the story than that, and gets even more suspicious when she learns about Cliff and Maria’s affair. It seems Eddie knew his mom was cheating, and he was about to confront the two of them. But Liza has secrets of her own – Johnny uncovers a video of her and Eddie getting intimate on the day he died. Yoinks!
Meanwhile, Skip and Maria keep having cryptic conversations, culminating in Maria giving Skip a DVD that clearly shows Skip wiping down the gun and putting it in dead Eddie’s hand. Was he the killer, or the fixer? Interesting.
On the home front, Tess is trying to attract Skip – why? He’s such a scary sleazeball! – and she contrives to get a young, hot golf pro to act as her date for her birthday party to make Skip jealous. The “acting” part is especially relevant, since the hottie in question is gay. Skip finds out, and Tess is humiliated. Skip responds by kissing her. Tess, you can do so much better. Heck, even Travis was better.
Things aren’t going well at Johnny’s, either. Bob gets jealous of Skip oozing all over Karen, and punches him out. Yay, Bob! The problem is, the whole situation reminds him of how he and Karen met – she was married at the time. He just can’t trust her, and he lets her know. Rookie mistake, Bob. Karen doesn’t help matters by accidentally calling Bob by her dead husband’s name. Doh! In the end, Karen gets drunk and laments her lost dreams to Bob – that’s not really what he wanted to hear.
Next week, we find out what really happened to Eddie. What’s your theory? What on earth does Tess see in Skip? How psycho is Maria? Should Nikki take Cliff back, support him in his time of need, or is she better off without him? And just how fantastic is Jesse Jo? Tell us what you think in the comments!

hey i love the show Hidden Plams and i am very sad that they canceled it i wish it was still on that would be so awsome because it was a very hrilling show it kept me on the edge of my set and it should come back on so every one can continue to enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my God.....Hidden Palms is by far the best show on earth. I love this show!!! I have probably watched the whole season more then 10 times, it is just so addicting. The show just makes you wonder whats going to happen next and I love all the suspense and hidden secrets.I know that there are a lot of people hoping that this show will not stop on the first season soo PLEASE IT CANNOT END HERE!!!! BRING IT BACK.

i personally think that hidden palms was a great show compared to shows like one tree hill and veronica mars. even though i know its the 4 of july i made sure i made time 2 watch .... and i did. the finale was confusin but still good and thats why i think they should continue the show so that viewer can know if johnny is going to tell police that skip was the actuall killer

PLEASE give HP another season!!! This is a really good show and will get as poplular, if not more popular than shows like Smallville if you give it a chance!! The plot is excellent and addicting!!

I don;t see the point of even watching the CW anymore, everytime i get into a show, it just gets cancelled. I well remember this for future reference. Now all that well go through my head in the fall line up, is hmm, well its just going to get cancelled anyway. If they don't even give something a chance, then i am not going to even bother with watching.

My boyfriend and i LOVE this show we are both 21 and he fell in love with it first Cliff is soooo hot even though he is a bad boy we still want things with him and nicki to work out gretta needs to just be honest and not keep johnny to herself they all should hang around ( meaning gretta nikki and liza) Liza loved eddie she never would have hurt him. We think eddies mom did it maybe skip and maria are trying to cover something up. Maybe even gretta did it finding out about liza and eddie!!! weLOVE this show it must go on!!!

This show has to be aired next season. It is by far the best new show on television. It would really be a disservice to CW11 to not air this show next season. It is full of intrigue, suspense and really good television. Please tell me the show will continue next season.

I was so suprised about Eddie and his awesome secret LOVER.....LIZA I was totally shocked, but here's the thing, I think that Eddie found out about his girlfriend and his bestfriend and he was kinda mad about that but then when he suspected that his mom was cheating on his dad, he told Liza, then he eventually finds out that the "mystery man" is the one and only HOT STUD Cliff; he kinda freaks out about it so I think that before he found out about that he was trying to get back at Greta by sleeping with Liza. And then he finds out about his "RAPIST" mom and his bestest HOT friend Cliff,then he sought out to go kill him but then Mrs.RAPIST BETTY over there found out and then she came with a gun of her own(like Bacio83 said)and the whole thing went wrong and she ended up killing her son when he tries to kill Lover Boy. After that Greta's dad Skip did something with the case and made the people rule the case a suicide instead of a murder like it should have been in the first place, and that's why they didnt question any one and that's why Skip and Mrs.RAPIST BETTY are working together on the whole thing.

#1 Mrs.Nolan
#2 Skip
#3 And at the moment Mister HOTTY MCHOT HOT

I loved the past few episodes of HP and i really don't think that you should give us the viewers only 8 episodes. I think you guys really didn't try giving HP a real good chance to get popular it took shows like smallville to get popular and I really would like to see a second season instead of leaving everyone hanging on forever. I really have to say HP gave like me that i know a new show to watch that was about kids around my age and not like shows that are showing mostly about older age groups. I'm just trying to get a point through that you should give HP another chance to show what it has.

Everyone loves this show!! It can't be ending already. The CW has gotten rid of so many good shows in the past (ie. summerland, runaway) compared to its other shows which really don't have a purpose other than giving into the teen humilating culture on degrading women. These 2 shows were amazing, I just can't figure out excatly what happened because everytime I do, there is another twist. What else could be better in a show?

GREAT show. I can't imagine why it wouldn't be continuing.
I do think they should write the little dog "Spats" in a lot more.
Dogs especially help the viewers
relate, conciously or subconciously, favorable and heartwarming feelings to a show. He's darling and should be seen more of. I hope the word gets out and the series continues.

Maria Nolan killed Eddie!! Eddie probably was going to tell his dad that his mom was having an affair. Maria found out that Eddie new and she wouldve lost her money and her fabulous life in palm springs so she shot him so he wouldnt tell.

Liza killing Eddie doesn't make sense to me and this is why:
1. What reason would Skip have to cover up what happened to Eddie if Liza killed him?
2. Remember the video Liza showed Johnny of Eddie talking about his mother's affair? I'm telling you, when Eddie found out his best friend was his mother's lover, he flipped.
3. Also, I think, Eddie and Liza slept together before the party. Eddie probably did it to get back at Greta and would have thrown it in her face at the party, but he found out about Cliff and Maria instead. In the video of Eddie and Liza starting to get it on: Eddie wasn't upset or angry, so that had to be prior to the party, prior to him finding out about Cliff & Maria.
4. why would maria need to call skip and have him alter the crime scene if she had nothing to do with her son's death?

My theory is that liza had a thing for eddie and was jealous of him and greta together.So after they slept together liza told eddie to end things with greta for good,and when he didn't,she killed him.

These two eps were great, really started moving the plot and character developement along nicely.
I love this show and think it'd do well as a midseason replacement CW!
let's give HP another chance and give it a season 2!

Here's my theory: There were two guns. Eddie had one and so did Maria.
Cliff showed up at Eddie's house (after Liza left) to explain what Eddie saw at the party between Maria and himself. Eddie was drunk and angry, grabbed a gun and was going to shoot Cliff. Maria shows up with a gun of her own and shoots Eddie.
Skip took the gun eddie had and replaced it with the one maria used to kill him. Think about it, Skip had a gun in his desk along with a confidential case file. The gun eddie used for his "suicide" would be in a police evidence lockup.

humor moments: good
drama: overrated
suspense: lacking. everything was easily predictable before being shown onscreen...I'm still waiting for the "shock" that KW is known for from the Scream Trilogy. Maybe he's lost his touch.
JesseJo drag club scene: timewaster and tacky. I changed the channel for a few minutes.
Nikki - where do I start? ugh...I think I'm not getting this actress...she's terrible and annoying...enough said.

is this really the series finale? besides so you think you can dance, this is my favorite summer show! i can't wait to find out who killed Eddie. i think the whole thing was an accident. i think that maybe Greta and Cliff were trying to take the gun away from Eddie's mom, but it went off. Maria is freakin' psycho! I don't want to say she did because its too obvious... Even though Cliff has a dark side, i know it can't be him. Liza is starting to be more suspicious... I don't know. This show can't end-I'm hooked!!!

Great episode! Awesome mix of humor, drama, and suspense. Jesse Jo has some of the best lines ever.
But now on to a more pressing matter: HP's "series" finale. The CW can not leave us w/only 8 episodes, and a cliff-hanger. Please do anything you can to let the CW know you want a 2nd season!
