Sourcies Nominations Are Open!

We asked for help, and boy, did you deliver! We got a ton of great category suggestions for The Sourcies 2009 -- almost 70 altogether! We wish we could use them all, but alas, we needed to winnow it down a bit. Some categories (best line, for example) gave us too much choice, while others (like best air guitar) gave us too little. (Nice try at getting us to nominate Jensen's Eye of the Tiger performance, though, The Driver Picks!)

In the end, we cut it down to 25 categories. Ladies and gentlemen, in no particular order, your Sourcies are:

1. Best couple
2. Best recurring character
3. Favorite fashion guru
4. Best hair (or hair accessory)
5. Most dearly departed (your favorite deceased character)
6. Favorite newcomer
7. I love to hate you
8. Best cliffhanger
9. Most heartbreaking moment
10. Best special effects
11. Favorite villain
12. Favorite friends forever moment
13. Most awkward moment
14. Best fight
15. Best finally! It’s about time! moment
16. Best kiss
17. Biggest WTF?!? moment
18. Funniest scene
19. Hottest moment
20. Most unexpected hookup
21. Voice of wisdom award
22. Most dramatic meltdown
23. Hooray! The bitch is back!
24. Best special episode
25. Best family drama
So now we've got even more work for you: Nominations! We want to know your take on each and every one of those categories. Who should make the list? Note: We're looking for nominations from the 2008-2009 season only.

Tell us in the comments, and stay tuned for more Sourcilicious goodness!

13: Fear is Real: More Terrifying Tales from the Players

Three more players from 13:Fear is Real sat down to talk to us about the show, the Mastermind, who they could trust, and what it was like to know they could be killed at any moment.

First, Erica shares her fear of rats (she was not happy about our little friends) and roaches, and talked about being her own biggest competition:

Then, Adam talks about fears that developed over the course of the show -- like the fear of having to go to the bathroom alone:

Finally, Rodney teases that there are some heated conflicts too look forward to over the course of the show:

13: Fear is Real

The contestants on 13: Fear is Real face death at every turn -- but at least they're leaving some good-looking (and surprisingly animated) corpses. We caught up with a couple of the deceased contestants to ask them about their fears, what their experience on the show was like, and who they thought they could trust.

First, Kelly explains her goldfish phobia, then talks about what to do if you're buried alive (hint: go up)

Next, Steffinnie tells us why she gave up the Death Box, and considers whether she should have done the show in the first place:

13: Fear Is Real...or imagined

13: Fear is Real cast
Last night featured the debut of the oft-delayed new reality show 13: Fear Is Real. Did you watch? We did. Here's what we think:

First off, the show can’t seem to decide if it wants to follow in the footsteps of the “The Blair Witch Project” or the torture porn of “Saw” and its endless sequels. Without a definite template in place, we get the both worlds: the dark, haunted outdoors where things go bump in the night and the omnipotent overseer pulling the strings.

Set in the Louisiana Bayou with a creepy, unseen character who calls himself “The Mastermind” at the helm, 13 attractive, theoretically normal young adults face their deepest fears for the chance to win the satanic sum of $66,666. Of course, normalcy is relative when you consider these folks are willing to endure horrific situations such as being buried alive for a paltry cash prize when compared to other contests. This show makes Who Wants To Be A Millionaire look like a walk in the park.

The name of the game is staying alive. The last contestant left standing wins, but not before compromising his or her soul. You see, the losers don’t get sent home packing, they supposedly get sent to an eternal resting place. Now, we’re pretty sure the network wouldn’t actually condone murder (we think...), but this juxtaposition between reality and fantasy (and never knowing which is which) gives the show its oomph. We're a bit leery of the premise -- what about you?

New CW Shows Podcast: From 90210 to Stylista

The girls of Surviving The Filthy RichYou asked, we delivered! Sarah, Mia and I discuss The CW's fall lineup on our new shows podcast. We're skeptical about Stylista's concept, excited about 90210's stars, and waiting for more information on Surviving the Filthy Rich (pictured at right).

We go on a few tangents about CW shows that have gone before us like Hidden Palms, Summerland, and Runaway. Oh, and there's some intense discussion of Saved By The Bell, grapples, and whether or not we're sick of rich people yet (are you?). Plus, we discuss what we're hoping to see on our favorite established CW hits this fall.

Listen to our new CW shows podcast and tell us what you think!

The CW Bets on Lucky 13

The CW is performing a little programming alchemy: Take the rating-bait strength of a reality show, combine with the subject matter of a show with a near rabid fan base, and presto! Welcome to "13," a horror-based reality show that will play this summer. It's the next best thing to having Sam and Dean Winchester attempt to exorcise Tyra Banks.

According to Variety, the network is teaming up with horror god Sam Raimi (director of Evil Dead, Army of Darkness, and oh yeah, some little movie called Spider-Man) to make the show, which will put players through a series of challenges based on popular horror-movie tropes. The last one standing wins.

We're just imaging the potential challenges now: Evade the chainsaw-wielding maniac? Find and destroy the sleeping vampire? Fend off brain-munching zombies? Figure out which of their companions is hosting an alien parasite? The possibilities are endless!

What do you think? Will you tune in? What kind of challenges would you like to see? Tell us in the comments!
